Delete Your Account

You have the right to request deletion of your Selam Ride account and associated personal data. Please read the information below before submitting your request.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
- Your account and profile information will be permanently deleted
- You will no longer be able to access your trip history through the app
- Any outstanding balance in your Selam Ride wallet will be forfeited (please withdraw first)
- Pending refund requests will still be processed
- Certain data may be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud prevention purposes (up to 7 years as required by Ugandan law)
Before You Delete
- Withdraw any balance from your Selam Ride wallet
- Download your trip history if you need it
- Ensure all outstanding disputes are resolved
- If you are a driver, ensure all earnings have been withdrawn
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1 — Via the App:
- Open the Selam Ride app
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Follow the prompts to confirm
Option 2 — Submit a request below:
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
Data Retention After Deletion
Even after account deletion, certain data may be retained as required by Ugandan law:
- Financial transaction records — 7 years (tax compliance)
- Safety incident records — retained as legally required
- Anonymised analytics data — retained indefinitely (not personally identifiable)
